Starting therapy is a significant investment in yourself. To help you transition from the "noise" of daily life into our work together, here are a few ways to prepare for our first session:

preparing for your journey

notice the repetitive patterns

Before we meet, simply notice any repetitive patterns, emotional cycles, or moments where you feel "stuck" in your daily life or relationships. You don’t need to solve or fix them—just observe them with curiosity.
Because anxiety and life stress physically impact us, try to notice where you tend to carry tension (like your shoulders, stomach, or jaw). We can use these physical signals as a helpful map to understand what your system needs during our sessions.

check in with your body

If possible, try to give yourself 5 to 10 minutes before and after our sessions to breathe and decompress. Moving straight from a high-pressure meeting, a chaotic family transition, or a stressful commute into deep internal work can feel jarring.

Set a “Buffer” time
